Poker users have already reported slowdowns, errors and general compatibility issues with Microsoft's new operating system Vista. The main problem surrounding Vista is its original lack of testing on third party applications, especially software originating overseas. Poker sites and software definitely fall within this category that Microsoft determined a non-priority. Thankfully there are a couple ways around Vista's short comings.

1. Download the Windows Vista Application Patch (Download directly from Microsoft here). This patch is confirmed to increase playing speed and reduce glitches, especially as to Vista's 64 bit version.
